IDIOT STARE ANNOUNCES WEST COAST SUMMER TOUR
The dates are set for a series of shows up the west coast. This is the first major tour in Idiot Stare's long history, so if you live near any of the cities on the schedule, be sure and catch this rare opportunity to see Idiot Stare live. All shows are in support of our friends The Last Dance. Also appearing with be Simple Shelter and local favorites. This tour is the result of our great show with The Last Dance at Bar Sinister. IDIOT STARE COVER CHEMLAB!!
We have attempted to do justice to Blunt Force Trauma for an upcoming Chemlab Tribute album. We're very excited to be a part of this. Other bands include Fleshfield, Cyanotic, UCNX, 16Volt, Infocollapse, K-Nitrate, Fetish Project, Hindu Pez, Typozorg, Cross Contamination, Amorphite, The Vinegar Works, Disintigry, and of course, Insight 23 and Chemlab.

Series.” The show premieres on July 11th, at 10:00 pm EST & PST –

Got our copy of "2:40am" not too long ago. Tommy T has put out another
great Diverje album, this one chock full of remixes, including our mix of "Stimulate". Check it out.
If all goes well you should see a completely new version of this website on

busy filming/editing footage for the upcoming Porno video, and completely re-working
this website. T-shirts are in the not too distant future too. We're on schedule

Our show at Xanth
was great! Thanks to everyone for coming out and making it such a great time.

2002:
New People:
Chad Bishop, Bruce King and Brittain Alexander are all still present from the
last version of the band. We've now expanded the group by adding Blayne Alexander,
the vocalist from Insight 23. So Idiot Stare now has two singers. We were a
bit timid with the format at first, but it's worked out really well and we're
excited by the expanded versatility a two singer band has. Also of note, a8
has moved to Tokyo, but is still working on music with the band through the
internet.
New Website:
Idiotstare.com is being worked on and will be ready for launch soon. The version
you're looking at now is a temporary version until the big fancy one is finished.
We'll be adding lots of info to it, so be sure and check it often. Let us know
if something you want to see is missing.
New Music:
We're still working on new songs. You'll hear three of them played live as part
of our show at Club Xanth. If you can't make it to San Diego, you'll have to
wait till we finish producing the recordings (or book a show in your area).
It's very hard to describe the style of the new songs. Most of the old elements
are there, and a few new ones have crept in too. Coldwave with some Europop
influence? Maybe. We'll post samples to the web when the recordings are finished.
Our new song "Ghost"
has been accepted for inclusion on the new Cryonica Tanz II compilation. A lot
of really good bands are going to be on this (Cubanate, Razed in Black, Aghast
View, Fiction 8, Seabound), so we're in great company! What a great way to introduce
the new Idiot Stare. "Ghost" was cool to work on because a8 contributed
parts via the internet from Tokyo, and Dan from REwire contributed parts over
the internet from NoHo.
Our remix of "Stimulate"
will be on the next Diverje album "2:40 am." We'll keep you posted
on release dates as we get them.
